Vernatsch

At the base of the hill, Castelfeder, one can find our oldest vineyard, which was planted in 1904. The grapevines are grown in a traditional manner using the pergola trellis system.

Vernatsch, an indigenous variety, is ripe enough for harvesting around September 20th. It is fermented through maceration, and the grape must does not get pressed. Because tannins and coloring agents are absorbed to a lesser extent, the wine can preserve its own distinctiveness better. A light and pleasant wine to drink.
