Glassier. Lagrein
The biggest location of our vineyards is situated at the base of the hill, Castelfeder. Directly on the farm. This
scree of sand, limestone, as well as porphyry from the surrounding mountain slopes, accumulated itself over the course of thousands of years. The soil depth lies within approximately 10 to 15
metres.
Lagrein, a type of wine that only grows in South Tyrol, ripens between the end of September and the beginning of
October.
The grape mash is placed in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 14 days in order to undergo
fermentation. Afterwards, the wine is stored in 15-hectolitre wooden barrels for 14 months. The evaporation of alcohol and water leads to a concentrate and a balanced
maturation.
